'IT'S NOT IN YOUR HEAD, IT'S REAL' TEE
Coercive control is one of the most dangerous forms of domestic and family violence. But it's also the type of domestic violence that our community is least aware of.
Coercive control involves patterns of behaviour over time used to hurt, humiliate, isolate, frighten, or threaten a victim-survivor. It can include physical, sexual, financial, psychological or other forms of abuse.
Coercive control can completely erode a person's sense of self, dignity and wellbeing. It's also a predictor for severe physical violence and homicide. But because it's harder and more subtle to spot, it's easy for victim-survivors to think it's all in their head.
BUT IT'S NOT IN THEIR HEAD. IT'S REAL.
Wear this tee to help spread community awareness about coercive control. A conversation that you start could end up preventing a major domestic violence tragedy.
